I’m in the middle of the 21 days no complaints experiment, and it’s even more difficult than I thought it would be.
I’ve lasted seven days so far. (I had to start again when my car blew up on the highway. Minor provocation there.)
This is a really invaluable thing to try. I’d bet that most of us complain simply because we run out of things to say. It’s habitual.
However, what we say in the form of complaints has a powerful effect on how we view our world. And how we view our world has an equally powerful effect on how we act and react to circumstances. And eventually, our actions begin to shape our reality.
I’d recommend taking the challenge for a simple reason. That is: I’veĀ found that I complain far more than I need to. And in the absence of complaints, life ain’t all that bad.
[NB. Like a lot of worthwhile things in life, this goal is incredibly simple, but very challenging.]
