There really is a difference between having a career and working a job. A career is a long range thing with a plan and a vision and a place you’re getting to. A job is just to pay the bills.
The important thing, I believe, is to make sure, as far as possible, that your career involves working in jobs that you enjoy. And that your career is meaningful, something you believe in. When the dreaded ‘what do you do’ question comes up, do you feel good about the answer?
